Low Angle Rope Rescue Training

In today’s world, being a firefighter is much more than simply putting out fires. Our members train and prepare to respond to a variety of emergency situations, including victim rescue. On Monday evening, November 25th, our weekly training focused on low angle rescue techniques.

During the course of this week’s drill, members worked through a series of rope rescue evolutions to lift a rescue dummy secured in a stokes basket up an incline. Members deployed a variety of knots and pulley arrangements to understand the benefits and limitations of mechanical advantage during low angle rescue.
