On Saturday July 19, 2025, the Guilderland Fire Department was proud to host a fun and educational Bike Safety & LifeNet Helicopter Event—bringing the community together for a day of safety, learning, and family-friendly activities.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet and interact with local volunteer firefighters, as well as dedicated professionals from the Guilderland Police Department and Guilderland EMS. It was a fantastic chance for community members to learn more about the people who serve and protect Guilderland every day.

Kids especially enjoyed the hands-on experience of using a real fire hose, getting a feel for what it’s like to be a firefighter! Families also got an up-close look at the impressive LifeNet medical helicopter, learning about its critical role in emergency response.

To top it all off, a local food truck served up delicious tacos, adding great flavor to an already exciting day.

A heartfelt thank you to Hannaford Supermarkets for generously hosting the event in their parking lot and supporting this important community outreach initiative.
