Community Safety Education
In addition to responding to emergencies when our friends and neighbors need us most, the members of The Guilderland Fire Department are committed to teaching fire safety & education.
Some of the fire safety activities our members take part in each year include:
Open House – Each fall as part of the nationwide fire prevention week, our members conduct an open house which has previously included demonstrations and interactive sessions such as how to use a fire extinguisher etc.
School Program – Our fire prevention team visits local elementary schools, nursery schools, day care centers and other venues in order to allow children the opportunity to meet a fire fighter. The goal is to allow children to see the equipment fire fighters use on a daily basis as well as review at home fire safety tips such as stop, drop and roll.
If you would like to learn more about any of our fire prevention programs, please call the fire house at (518) 456-5000 or use the Contact Form located on the contacts page and someone from that team will be in touch with you shortly.
