Tactical Skills Drill
On Monday evening, June 15, members of the Guilderland Fire Department conducted a series of tactical firefighting evolutions at our fire station for the first time since early March due to COVID-19. We continue to follow guidelines from CDC and NYS and practice good social distancing habits to ensure our members are safe, healthy and ready to respond to incidents in our community when needed.
The ongoing commitment to practice firefighting tasks is critical to all firefighters to build up the muscle memory to respond effectively during a real event. During this drill members had the chance to rotate through several stations focused on water supply & hose advancement, deployment of ground ladders, and operation of different saws & cutting tools typical of firefighting. Your volunteer fire department will continue to develop mastery of these critical skills to protect our community and the neighbors who live in it.
