This Event Has Been Postponed Due to the COVID-19 Out Break

Listen in to Brian and Chrissy in the Morning on 107.7 WGNA on March 27th from 5:30 – 10:am as the members of the Guilderland Fire Department will be featured on the inaugural First Responder Friday’s series.

There are lots of reasons to volunteer today, but it’s the sense of community and the desire to help someone in need that drives the passion of our members. Whether it’s responding to a house fire, a car accident, flooded basement or any other type of emergency, the sense of pride and satisfaction that comes with knowing you can make a difference in a neighbor’s time of need is truly priceless.

When you join a volunteer fire department, you become more than a member. You become part of a larger extended family. The fire service has traditionally been very family oriented and the Guilderland Fire Department is no different. In many cases our members extend two or three generations in families.

Volunteer opportunities extend beyond firefighting. Throughout the year our members take part in a variety of activities including:

  • Attending and supporting various community events such as National Night Out.
  • Fire Prevention and Safety Education at schools and other public gatherings.
  • Membership Recruiting and Open House Events.

If you are interested in learning more about us and how you could join our team, we would love the opportunity to meet with you and answer any questions you may have. To get started you can visit our membership information page at https://guilderlandfd.org/join, fill out the membership application online and our membership committee will reach out to schedule a time to meet. If you prefer you can also call the fire station at (518) 456-5000 or feel free to stop by any Monday evening after 6:30.

On April 25th we will also be participating once again in the State Wide Recruit NY event and anyone who is interested is invited to stop down at the fire station to learn more about becoming a member.

Tradition. Family. Pride
