The Guilderland Fire Department invites you and your family to join us for our Annual Fire Prevention Open House!
This is your chance to visit the firehouse, meet your local firefighters, get an up-close look at our apparatus and equipment, and learn more about what we do to serve the Guilderland community.
Whether your kids love fire trucks, you’re interested in fire safety, or you’ve simply wondered what goes on inside the firehouse, we’d love to have you stop by.
🔥 What You’ll Find at the Open House
Throughout the day, we’ll have activities and demonstrations for the entire family, including:
- 🚒 Fire Truck Tours – Climb aboard and get an up-close look at the apparatus and equipment we use.
- 🔥 Firefighter Demonstrations – See some of the tools, techniques, and equipment firefighters use on emergency calls.
- 👨🚒 Meet Your Firefighters – Talk with the volunteers who serve and protect our community.
- 🧯 Fire Prevention & Safety – Learn simple ways to help keep your family and home safe.
- 🎯 Games & Kids’ Activities – Plenty of hands-on fun for our younger visitors.
- 🍔 Food & Refreshments – Grab something to eat while you enjoy the day.
- 📸 Photo Opportunities – Don’t forget your camera! There will be plenty of opportunities for photos with the trucks and firefighters.
👨🚒 Ever Thought About Becoming a Firefighter?
Our Open House is also a great opportunity to learn what it means to become a volunteer firefighter with the Guilderland Fire Department.
You don’t need previous fire service experience. We’ll provide the training. If you’ve ever thought about giving back to your community, learning new skills, or becoming part of a team that makes a real difference, come talk with us.
We’ll have members available throughout the day to answer questions about membership, training, time commitments, and how to get started.

Our Open House is about more than fire trucks and demonstrations. It’s a chance for us to open our doors, meet our neighbors, share what we do, and have some fun along the way.
