Each year the Guilderland Fire Department bestows its Fire Fighter of the Year award on the member which has gone beyond the call of duty as a volunteer and whose efforts have made a large impact on both the department and the community in which we serve.
This year’s winner is Sean Smith. As a Lieutenant in the department Sean is instrumental in helping coordinate training for our members and for his leadership skills on the fire ground. Sean is also the chairman of the department’s recruitment and retention committee where his efforts over the last two years have helped bring in many new members.
Thank you Sean for all that you do for both the members of the Guilderland Fire Department and the residents of the Town of Guilderland.
