Corona Virus Update

To our family, friends and neighbors who reside in the Guilderland Fire District:

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak the decision has been made to suspend public access to the Fire Station located at 2303 Western Avenue in Guilderland NY until further notice. Our members will continue to respond to emergencies, but we are suspending access to the building to the general community as a precautionary measure.

All functions currently scheduled have been cancelled or postponed. The Guilderland Fire Department Board of Fire Commissioners, in ongoing consultation with the Fire Chief and Albany County, will continue to evaluate the status of the Corona Virus and determine when access to the station can be re-opened to the general public.

During this time, our members stand ready to respond and assist our residents if needed. We ask that if you or anyone in your household is stick or may have been exposed to the Corona Virus that you share that information with the dispatcher when calling in your emergency. In the event that we are dispatched to your residence, our responding members will ask you to share this information as well. Doing so will ensure our responders are properly protected when they arrive.

Any questions can be directed to us by calling the fire station directly at 518-456-5000 or you may reach out through Facebook.
