On Saturday September 17th, the members of the Guilderland Fire Department along with some of our friends from neighboring departments visited NYC. Our first stop on the trip was to the 9/11 memorial where we spent several hours looking at all the exhibits.
Our second stop was to Manhattan’s famous Rescue1 where the firefighters on duty welcomed us into their station and provided us a tour as well as the opportunity to review the tools and equipment they use on a daily basis.
Our final stop was to Engine 3, Ladder 12 & Battalion 7 where we had an opportunity to tour their station, walk through the tools on their trucks and learn more about a typical day for their firefighters.
