One of the tasks we often conduct is a walkthrough of new commercial buildings and apartment complexes that are under construction in our fire district. On these visits our primary focus is reviewing the layout of the building, discussing apparatus placement in the event of an emergency and ensuring our members are familiar with items such a fire hydrant locations, gas and electric shut offs etc.
Additionally these visits allow us an opportunity preplan how we might respond to certain emergencies at that location as well as a chance to drive our apparatus around and ensure we can easily get our largest apparatus anywhere it may be needed.
